Family: Ben & Julie

The last time I photographed the Graham family, they were only a family of 4.  Fast forward a few years and the family has grown to 6!  I was happy when Julie finally called me again to photograph her family, as it was long overdue.  I don't know how Ben and Julie manage the madness of 4 kids, but they do it somehow and got the best out of them on this day...

Family: Todd & Xochi

It's always a fun time when I see the Hartley family. They have carried on a tradition of taking photographs of each of their children when they reach two years old. Zack gave me the scoop on his favorite ninjas, while Niya whipped off the longest list of her favorite foods. Nothing, however, beats the sound of gunshots from nearby deer hunters, which startled me with every shutter click. The drive to Round Hill is always worth it, as I can't get these views in my own backyard. The beautiful backgrounds worked so well this fun-loving family. Hopefully #4 comes around sometime so I can come back again!

Hello World!: Jack

I am definitely behind in extending my warm welcome to Jack, but it's never too late! My good friends, Colin and Jaime, recently welcomed another addition to their family. So... meet Jack! I know Colin had been crossing his fingers for a boy about as badly as I had been crossing mine for a boy in my own family. After hearing a lot of my friends welcome girls into the world this year, I was having my doubts on whether Colin would have his wish granted, but he pulled through!

Colin/Jaime - congrats on the many new things that you have been able to celebrate this year! Hopefully you groom Jack to be a future Terrapin...

Family: Mike & Lisa

Observing first time parents interacting with their baby never gets old for me. I used to laugh at the ways my older brother interacted with his first child when he was born. He went from being a serious man to being a complete goofball with the sole purpose of getting a smile out of his child. Now... I find myself doing those same things with mine. The difference now is that my brother gets the last laugh watching me...

Mike and Lisa recently introduced me to Keegan, a boy with no shortage of rolls or smiles. As we continued inching closer to celebrating his first birthday, Lisa wanted to capture some photos of the family in DC. Thankfully, we still had some good Fall weather.

Mike/Lisa - thank you for having me around to photograph your family! Hopefully we can have our kids meet sometime soon!

Family: Karl & Andrea

Time flies by fast. While I have known Andrea for what seems like forever, it has been a little bit of time since we were able to catch up with each other. And now? She's flanked by three girls! Recently, we were able to take some time out to photograph her princesses in Georgetown.

The time was well spent, as I got to see each and every personality flush itself out. Ashley spent her time telling me how boats could fit in between her fingers and how she could crush them. Shelby found a way to make sure she got in front of my camera every moment she had a chance. Hailey... adorable, but clearly will rule this family when it's all said and done.

Karl/Andrea - thank you for letting me photograph your family - now go and have a 4th child please.
