Reunion with Friends

Time sure does fly. It feels like it was just yesterday that my friend, Xochi, was still working with me without kids. Now? Xochi and Todd have two beautiful kids, Niya and Zach. I finally had some time to visit with their family and officially meet the children. The kids loved the camera! Shy? Not a chance. Niya was busy singing her favorite songs, dancing to Miley Cyrus, and making me tea (well, it was imaginary tea, but tea nonetheless). Zach wanted front and center of my camera lens every time he saw it and had no problems crawling as fast as he could to me. I was happy I finally got a chance to meet and spend time with the family. It's been too long...

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay

I recently made my way back to San Francisco, a place I called home for few years back in the early 2000s. Sometimes it's hard to realize what you miss until you leave (cliche, right?). Having moved back to the Washington DC area and now going back to the Bay Area this time around provided me an opportunity to revisit some of the familiar sites I knew and loved, but with a different eye this time and a camera in hand.

Fall Session With Friends

One of the best things about photography in the Washington DC areais the fact that we do get the four seasons. As Fall season came upon us, my friend Chris asked if I would portraits of his family. I didn't hesitate to accept the opportunity to meet his wife, Renee, and their adorable daughter, Alivia. Late in October, as the leaves began to fall off the trees, we finally scheduled our session.

It was great to finally meet the family and a pleasure to work with all of them. We tried to focus more on Alivia, but it was hard to ignore the interaction between the family as a whole. It was easy to see how happy this family is when they're together, as we captured a lot of fun moments throughout the day we spent together.

Sailing Across the Mediterranean

I managed to break away recently to take a trip to the Mediterranean. It was an amazing trip that opened my eyes to some of the most historical sites in the world. While I only had a small taste of some of these sites, I definitely plan to make my way back to Europe soon to see even more sites that I missed this time around. Here are some pictures I was able to snap along the way. BTW - the cat pictures in this post were of a stray in Santorini (not Elmo!)...

Fun in the Sun

When I was younger, it was a yearly summer tradition to head to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for the week with my family. I remember packing weeks in advance in my excitement to build sand castles, eat boardwalk fries, and of course, play tons of carnival games. As we grew older, it became harder to get us together to go. Luckily this summer, we were able to sneak away for a long weekend to revisit a place we had so many fond memories of. Hopefully this time around, the kids were able to create some memories of their own, in hopes of carrying on a tradition of ours. It's always good to have a photographer around, right?
