WPPI 2011

I loved Vegas while I was there attending the WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) event of the year. Most of the top photographers in the country were there to provide their insight on the world of photography. It was definitely an experience that provided inspiration and motivation to continually improve the work I already do, yet strive for more. While I didn't get to photograph too much while I was out there, I did get to meet and chat with one of the best in the industry, Jasmine Star.

I already miss WPPI, but looking forward to it next year!

Family: Drew & Kristin

When Kristin called me to photograph her family (husband Drew and daughter Marielle), she advised me that she wanted the photographs to capture moments that sum up what their life is like everyday... fun and loving. Sounds simple, right? It was! I spent a day hanging out with the family at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna, VA. From watching Drew and Kristin take turns chasing Marielle around, to the playful side of a father-daughter relationship, to some sweeter moments that Marielle would share with her Grandmother and Mother, we successfully captured what this family is about.

During our session, Kristin and Drew gave me some good tips for parenthood along with a homemade CD with vacuum sounds. Laugh all you want, but the disc worked wonders and I'm not sharing! I will however share some pictures from our session.

Wedding: Patrick & Tracey

No wedding is ever the same. Patrick and Tracey found their own unique ways to make their wedding enjoyable for everyone. From a rehearsed first dance, to a traditional cookie table (Pittsburgh tradition), to the custom beer wedding favors, to hearing the fight songs for both the Redskins and Steelers, to Patrick's first pumping (Pauly D and the rest of the crew would've been proud to see it), there was always something going on to keep the entertainment lively.

You can see how happy Patrick and Tracey are together in everything they do. They made my life easy during our engagement session and wedding because they had fun while we were shooting. Best of luck on your journey in life and of course your beloved Steelers this weekend!

Special thanks go out to my talented colleague, Kingston Ko, for helping to photograph this awesome day.
