Hello World!: Jake

I don't know what the blizzard of 2009/10 did to our area, but there are ton of 'blizzard babies' that have recently arrived and many more that are arriving soon! When Susan first contacted me, she told me that Jake was about to turn one month old and wanted to capture some photographs of him while he was still small.

Fast forward a month to our photo session in Washington, DC. Meeting Jake for the first time, you would not know he was only two months old! His grip is strong and he's built solid (yes, I'm thinking NFL linebacker in 20 years). There are so many expressions to a baby. It seemed like every photograph I took yielded a different expression each time. Was he happy? Hungry? Sleepy? Curious? Seems like all of the above and more.

I'm still pumped about my beloved Redskins beating the Cowboys this weekend!

Engagement: Marcel & Lisa

I had the opportunity to meet Marcel and Lisa at a wedding event, as they prepared for their wedding. Before they set their travels ahead for a new beginning and a big move to sunny California, we made sure we photographed their engagement and wedding. Our engagement session led us to Malcom X Park in Washington DC, which had some really nice landscapes and awesome stone walls. It was an early morning, but we managed to get some nice shots before the sun came out in full force. Wedding pictures to come...

A Step Closer to College: Lisa

What were you doing when you were a senior in high school? I don't remember much about my senior year, except for SATs & ACTs, deciding where to apply, figuring out how to avoid attending class, and... FREEDOM! I wonder if much as changed?

When Lisa told me she needed some photographs to include in her senior yearbook page, I was happy to help out. Wait... page?? Yes, yearbooks have certainly evolved from the simple 1x1 photo in a tux that I had, to now... a full page?

As she goes through the difficult process of deciding on which college to attend, one thing that is certain is that she will miss her family when she does leave for college life, especially her younger brother, Alex. As we worked through the locations for our shoot, she advised that she wanted some photographs of Alex and herself for her future dorm and also as a keepsake for her mother.

We started off our day at the DC Waterfront in Georgetown and ended our day at her future alma mater in Bethesda, MD.

Best of luck this year Lisa! Hopefully your senior year in high school is a memorable one...
